Imperial Reservoir
FM 1450
Pecos County
The reservoir is adjacent to the Santa Rosa Ranch, south of Grandfalls in Pecos County. The lease covers day hunting and birdwatching only on specific blinds and is limited to the southwest half of the reservoir. Blinds and decoys are provided. Access is through one gate on the Santa Rosa Ranch and hunters must sign in before hunting. Boats and waders are required at some blinds.
There are seven blinds, three accessible by land and four accessible by boat or walking through thigh-high water in hip or chest waders. There are decoys at each blind, together with diagrams for decoy set-up given different wind directions. The blinds face different directions and will accommodate different numbers of hunters. The size of the blind determines how many hunters and dogs each blind will safely hold.
