DOUBLE TREE RANCH
South of Odessa, Texas
The Double Tree Ranch south of Odessa is accessed by South Loop 338, F.M. 3503 and F.M. 1787. The lease covers approximately 16.5 sections (square miles) or approximately 10.500 acres. The lease features year-around water on the two lakes in Monahans Draw, north of Loop 338, supplied by electric generating and petrochemical plants. These lakes draw wildlife of all kinds and provide duck hunting only minutes from Odessa. South of Loop 338 there are seven stock water sources with tanks that overflow into dirt tanks. This is a shotgun only bird lease.
The ranch is primarily range land, with overhead cover of mesquite and catclaw. There is some cultivation but it has been planted in hay crops that do not attract gamebirds. The soil varies from sandy loam in the north to caliche in the South. There is good access because of oilfield roads, pipelines and rights-of-way, and vehicles are limited to these, not pastures.
